Hydraulic cylinders are the main executive components of hydraulic systems and are widely used in machinery, chemical engineering, mining and other equipment. Due to long-term reciprocating load operation, they are prone to oil leakage, insufficient piston rod extension, sluggish movements, abnormal noises and vibrations, which directly affect the operating accuracy and production safety of the equipment.
Exterior leakage and internal leakage of hydraulic cylinders are common problems, mainly caused by aging, wear and failure of sealing rings, resulting in inability to maintain pressure and slow movements. The solution is to replace the sealing kits regularly, check if the inner wall of the cylinder tube has any scratches or marks, minor wear can be repaired and polished, and severe damage requires replacement of cylinder body components.
Inability of the hydraulic cylinder to extend or insufficient pressure is mostly caused by excessive hydraulic oil impurities, high oil temperature, blockage of the one-way valve or internal pressure loss. It is necessary to replace the hydraulic oil in time, clean the oil circuit filter element, control the working load of the equipment, avoid long-term overpressure operation, and remove impurities blocking the valve group to restore system pressure.
Stalling, shaking and abnormal noise of the hydraulic cylinder piston rod are usually caused by wear of the guide sleeve, insufficient lubrication or air mixed into the oil. Adding hydraulic oil, removing air from the pipeline, adding lubricating grease, and replacing worn guide components can be done. Daily maintenance should include dust protection to prevent impurities from entering the hydraulic cylinder, which can significantly reduce the failure probability and ensure the smooth and durable operation of the hydraulic cylinder.
